Markeya Lowery

Markeya was born and raised in Pittsburgh and has been dedicated to helping serve others since she was a young girl.

After obtaining her BA in Sociology from the California University of PA, she went on to spend over ten years in social services. She has served populations in the community ranging from children to older adults tackling the issues of re-entry, homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, and mental health. Through this work, she has worn many hats, including as a therapist, housing coordinator, women’s resource coordinator, and case manager.

Shortly after the birth of her lovely daughter in 2016, Navi Ahavah, she was inspired to self-publish her children’s book series On a Mission.

​In 2021, Markeya became a certified birth doula and life coach with the mission to empower and encourage communities through her work.
