We are currently looking to fill FIVE seats on our Board of Directors – candidates with an MSW, IT skills, financial or banking, PR/Marketing, and/or legal backgrounds/attorneys, fundraising and events skills, are strongly encouraged to apply. Board positions have terms of two years.
The Board of Directors of When She Thrives provides strategic direction and assistance to the organization to successfully achieve its mission, goals and objectives. Ideal candidates will have the capacity to meet bimonthly, and depending on need be willing to commit 5-10 hours per month. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making an impact in our region and eager to help grow our organization’s capacity and ability to serve women. Our board is a working board. Position Description: Board Member
- Recruit and select employees when necessary.
- Provide financial oversight of the WST’s budget to ensure continued fiscal responsibility and monitor financial growth and development consistent with established goals and objectives.
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability.
- Ensure effective organizational planning.
- Recruit and orient new Board members and assess Board performance
- Enhance the organization’s public standing.
- Support and monitor the Executive Director and their performance according to set objectives.
- Since discussions may involve confidential or sensitive issues, Board members sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
- Board members are expected to attend most, if not all, major When She Thrives events (as outlined in the Bylaws).
